Carolyn A. Williams, RRT, FAARC, is a dedicated respiratory therapist and advocate. As a leader in the Maryland/DC Society for Respiratory Care, she has championed legislative efforts, including lobbying for the Medicare Respiratory Therapist Access Act (HR 2619) and attending multiple Respiratory Care Fly-Ins in Washington, D.C. to support the SOAR Act and other critical healthcare legislation.

“Volunteering is the act of giving time and labor to a cause or organization without expectation of payment. I have been a volunteer and an advocate of the AARC for over 35 years, and it continues to be very rewarding to me,” said Williams.

Beyond advocacy, Williams is committed to education and outreach at the University of the District of Columbia. Her dedication to patients, students, and the profession makes her a true leader and volunteer. This Black History Month 2024, we honor Carolyn A. Williams for her lasting impact on respiratory care and patient advocacy.
