The AARC is proud to announce $50,000 in funding to support RT educators pursuing advanced degrees. RTs currently enrolled in bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree programs and employed as RT educators (program faculty, clinical educators) are encouraged to apply! Awarded funds can be used to support tuition, school supplies, a capstone project, or a thesis or dissertation project.

“Preparing the next generation of respiratory therapists requires faculty who are equipped with advanced education and scholarly skills. By supporting RT educators in bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs, we strengthen the profession, advance our goal to expand baccalaureate-level education, and ensure the future of respiratory care remains strong. This scholarship reflects the AARC’s commitment to removing barriers and expanding access for RT educators advancing their education. The AARC Board of Directors recognized that advancing respiratory care education begins with supporting those who teach,” said Sarah M. Varekojis, PhD, RRT, RRT-ACCS, FNAP, FAARC, Co-Chair, AARC Education Barriers and Access Task Force.

Individuals may request up to $5,000 per year for up to two years. Funding is not guaranteed, and all applications will be reviewed by the Education Barriers and Access Task Force. Awards are based on the selection criteria described below, and the number of completed applications received.
