Big News for Respiratory Care!
Advanced Practice Respiratory Therapist (APRT) legislation continues to gain momentum across the United States! States like Ohio, North Carolina, and Iowa are leading the way in expanding respiratory therapists’ roles to improve patient care, access, and outcomes. AARC is excited to share that Kentucky has recently introduced APRT legislation, marking another important step forward in recognizing the expertise of respiratory care professionals.
AARC is especially proud of the leadership and advocacy from Sarah Varekojis, PhD, RRT, RRT-ACCS, FNAP, FAARC, in Ohio. Her dedication is helping drive real change for patients, clinicians, and communities.
“APRT legislation is about aligning our healthcare system with the realities of patient need. APRTs bring advanced clinical expertise in cardiopulmonary care, and this legislation ensures patients have timely access to the right provider, at the right time. Ohio is proud to be leading this important work,” said Varekojis.
Together, we’re advancing the profession and expanding care where it’s needed most!
